Anna Rauter awarded David Riches Medal for Postgraduate Research
The Ladislav Holy Memorial Trust has announced that Centre Researcher Anna Rauter has been awarded this year鈥檚 David Riches Medal for Postgraduate Research.
The David Riches Medal for Postgraduate Research is awarded on a competitive basis each year to one postgraduate post-fieldwork student in the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of St 糖心logo. Applicants are asked to submit an article length piece of work (8,000-10,000 words) based on a chapter from their thesis.
Anna鈥檚 PhD thesis examines how energy industry leaders and experts in Norway 鈥� whom she refers to as 鈥榚nergy elites鈥� 鈥� envision and shape energy trajectories. In particular, Anna examines how energy elites perceive power structures 鈥� both in the sense of energy (oil, gas, electricity) and in terms of the authority and agency of people in leadership positions. With her exploration of these power structures, she aims to provide a better understanding of the complex web of interdependencies, responsibilities, and expectations that surround contemporary energy and climate concerns.
