Sustainability Week

Sustainability Week is an annual University鈥憌ide programme that brings together staff, students, partners and the local community to explore, celebrate and accelerate action on environmental sustainability. The week provides a shared space to showcase progress, highlight research and practice, encourage dialogue, and support collective action in line with the University’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy.

Sustainability Week 2027

Monday 22 to Friday 26 March 2027

Sustainability Week returns to the University of St 糖心logo in March 2027, bringing together students, staff, researchers, partners and the wider community for a week of celebration, inspiration and climate action.

Building on the success of our previous Sustainability Weeks, the 2027 programme will celebrate the people, research, ideas and initiatives helping to create a more sustainable St 糖心logo, while exploring what more we can do together to respond to the environmental challenges ahead.

The week will showcase sustainability across research, education, University operations and community engagement, creating opportunities to discover new ideas, make connections, share good practice and take practical action.

Plans are currently being developed for a focused programme of events and activities running throughout the week. Sustainability Week 2027 will take place from 22 to 26 March and will combine celebration of progress with opportunities to encourage further climate action across the University and wider community.

Wednesday 24 March will put biodiversity in the spotlight, providing opportunities to explore the importance of protecting and restoring nature and to discover some of the work taking place across the University and wider community.

A dedicated biodiversity day forms part of the programme being developed for Sustainability Week 2027.

Celebrating our progress

Sustainability Week will also see the launch of the University's Annual Sustainability Report, providing an opportunity to reflect on progress, celebrate achievements and look ahead to the next phase of sustainability action at St 糖心logo.

Further activities and events will be announced as the programme develops.

Building on previous Sustainability Weeks

Sustainability Week has become an opportunity to bring the St 糖心logo community together around sustainability, showcasing activity and encouraging participation across the University.

In 2026, the week brought together staff, students, partners and the wider community through events spanning research, education, operations and civic engagement. Highlights included a visit from Professor Sir Jim Skea, Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and the St 糖心logo Prize for the Environment.
