Research areas

Yang's research explores the logic(s) of global hierarchies from a critical, postcolonial IR perspective. Her first book project focuses on the worldviews as pertains to the hierarchical nature of global politics that underlie the Chinese society's 21st century discourses on Africa. Yang is also keen to explore 'the international' - how it comes into being, how it is perceived or imagined, as well as its composition in the first place.
